Get to Know Us
As a psychiatric trauma center, we specialize in outpatient mental health and consultation services for victims of recent, current, or past trauma.

Having a traumatic experience is an experience that shakes us up and that we have a hard time recovering from. There are many different types of trauma, from public traumatic events, such as terrorism, to more personal traumatic experiences, such as sexual abuse. No matter the specific experience, trauma can jolt you to your core no matter what it is.
Human beings have always had to deal with unexpected trauma and depression, PTSD, Bipolar, ADHD and anxiety are some of the common outcomes of these events.
Depression in the mind
Think of your brain as a freeway with millions of neurotransmitters transmitting information from one part of the brain to another with billions of connections between them. In severe and chronic stress, such as depression, your nerve cells lose some of these connections and communication between them becomes insufficient and noisy. Depression occurs as a result of noisy communication between neurons that regulate mood and emotion. Understanding the neuroscience behind depression is essential, as there is a difference between a depressed brain and a healthy brain. The exciting thing is that when you treat depression effectively, the brain looks healthy again. Treatment for depression is a long term process so we need new approaches to treat depression like TMS therapy, Ketamine and biofeedback.
